The Spudnut Shop is a legend in Richland. It was
established in 1948 by Barlow Ghirardo, and Jerry
Bell. With one $50 check, they bought a franchise
and 100 sacks of potato flour..
The shop opened in 1948 at the Richland Wye
and moved to the Uptown Shopping Center
two years later. It started out as a small bar,
serving only raised spudnuts, which are potato
flour based.
It's now expanded to serving several different
flavors of donuts and a full menu including burgers,sandwiches and soups.
