Moore Mansion

The Moore Mansion was built in 1908 by Seattle businessman James Moore. Moore intended The Big House on the Columbia to be home for him and his ill wife, but Mrs. Moore died before the house was finished. The property was sold to the Cameron family, who farmed there until the 1920s. In following years, the mansion, on the National Register of Historic Places, housed a nightclub, a speakeasy, a nursing home and a fine restaurant. An arson fire gutted the building in May of 2000. Brad and Debra Peck restored the home and it is now a center for special events in the community.
